At 6 Acre Farm, we aim to cultivate a welcoming space for individuals and families to connect with nature, nurture creativity, and learn about the art of farming. We strive to provide the Summerville community with opportunities to experience the beauty and therapeutic benefits of flowers while fostering a love for God's creation through community gardening.
Through our farm school and guest visitations (by appointment only), we hope to inspire and educate individuals of all ages about sustainable farming practices, horticulture education, and the importance of mental and emotional well-being in an ever-changing world. Led by Ernest Whitley, who has over 30 years of experience in the nursery business, and his wife, Lisa, an educator for over 20 years, they share a passion for empowering others with their knowledge to help increase their love of gardening, landscaping, floral arrangements, and more.
In addition to selling our blooms, we prioritize giving back to the community. We are dedicated to donating a portion of our food and flowers to nursing homes, churches, and food banks in the Summerville area. By doing so, we aim to spread joy, healing, and nourishment to those in need.
At 6 Acre Farm, we believe that by appreciating and understanding the beauty of nature around us, we can nurture our souls, create a positive impact on the community, as well as inspire future horticulturalists.
Join us on this journey of learning, growing, and giving as we cultivate a thriving flower farm and foster an appreciation for the wonders of God's creation.
Last summer, we added a 5,000 square foot enclosed garden in our yard as part of our community gardening efforts. We built ten 32-foot long raised beds to enhance our horticulture education and promote sustainable farming practices.

Spending time outdoors is beneficial for mental health, and community gardening provides a unique opportunity for both children and adults to engage in horticulture education, helping them to connect more closely with their food sources while promoting sustainable farming practices.
